Possibly. But you'd think he would bleed out a lot quicker if that were the case. The femoral arteries will spray blood just like the carotid artery does in the beheadings.

If only everyone obeyed traffic laws and wore proper safety gear...
I know when I do stand-by at the motorcycle races my nerves are shot to hell waiting for those guys to wreck. Luckily they all have helmets and spine guards on their back.
