Re: A Man Stabbed to Death is Getting Stomped by His Attacker
First of all, those murder rates you are referring to are most likely overall deaths by firearms, as most confiscationists like to lump self defense in with homicide and suicide. Those who are going to commit suicide are likely to find another way. Some might not, but most will. As seen above, this guy did just fine with a knife. Many other people in the thousands of posts on this site do just fine dying without being killed with a firearm. The firearm murder rate may be lower in SOME countries where firearms are banned, but the overall murder rates are NOT drastically lower in areas which have gun control. Quite the opposite is true. It is a proven fact that rape, assault, home invasions, violent crime in general goes up in countries with strict gun control. If you look at ALL of the stats and not just a cherry-picked few, you can look at two of the more recent examples. Australia and England both had major gun bans, but violent crime has risen steadily since then, and they still pull guns off the streets by the thousands every year. What YOU refuse to understand is that the second amendment does not grant American citizens the right to keep and bear arms, it only states that the right shall not be infringed, thus acknowledging the right pre-dated the Constitution. If the government did not grant the right, the government cannot take it away. Registration and confiscation hasn't worked in any other country, and it won't work in America. The United States government is not ready to accept the unintended consequences which they know will come with such a foolish notion as trying to take away over three hundred million firearms from innocent civilians. Many of which belong to the police and military which they would like to have doing their dirty work for them. I don't really see that working out too well for them either. |

Re: A Man Stabbed to Death is Getting Stomped by His Attacker
Oh, you mean like the 29 people stabbed to death at a Chinese train station in 2014? Or how about the 22 kids stabbed in a Chinese school on the same day as the Newtown shooting. Or maybe it's the 22 stabbed and slashed by a classmate in Pennsylvania in 2014. How about the 28 kindergarten kids in China in 2010? Granted, not all of the people in all of those incidents died, but just because the perps sucked at killing people doesn't mean they didn't try mighty hard. Yet, based on your comment, it is fair to conclude that you are one that would take away every innocent civilians ability to level the playing field by having the option to defend themselves or others with a firearm. I just cannot understand that kind of mentality. Most mass shootings do not have a death toll of 20 or more people. Most seem to be in the range of 5-10, maybe a few more in some of the cases. There are a huge number of mass stabbings that occur in supposed gun free zones all over the world where the number of people killed are more in line with those numbers. The point has been made MANY times over, that if someone wants to kill someone, they are going to do it with whatever tool is available. Who's the idiot now? |
