Re: Man Riding Homemade Rocket Killed
For the last two years I have been building an experimental kit aircraft in my hangar at home. I have been weighing the pros and cons of a BRS parachute for the flight testing stage. The extra weight, cost and of course the actual benefits of it considering a great percentage of LSA and homebuilt aircraft accidents are in the flight testing stage and under 1000' I had struck it off my list. After watching him thunder into the ground I am going to reconsider installing one. This was obviously not a BRS as it looks about as effective as one of those paratroopers you would get at a variety store when we were kids. Wrap the chute and the parachords around the army dude and chuck it up into the air.... I could not in my mind imagine why anyone would want to be propelled 1500' into the air without any type of flight controls.... |

I know there are people that love him and are mourning his lost, and I feel bad for them but I have to say, it's hard for me to feel sorry for such an anti-science champion.

Re: Man Riding Homemade Rocket Killed
My buddy and I were considering building a LSA, however my buddy said “I don’t want the last thought to be going through my mind being ‘damn, that elevator control bolt should have had a lock nut!”
