Re: Man Riding Homemade Rocket Killed
I just saw a video of a second angle of this launch where they extract him from the rocket at the end - on news.com.au - and he is still alive and talking !! When I went back to download it it was replaced with the version we are seeing here. Did anybody else get the other version ?

Re: Man Riding Homemade Rocket Killed
Sorry folks I reckon this is a false alarm - I eventually found the video and it looks to me like it might be from an earlier successful launch and landing because his chute opens okay. The website news.com.au must have realised their error and removed the video. I got very suspicious as I didnt think he would be talking (or in one piece) after an impact like this.

Re: Man Riding Homemade Rocket Killed
Everyone on here is so excited to jerk off about how dumb flat eathers are or whip out the Darwin card that we're all missing the most important thing: The launch event was being filmed for the Science Channel television series Homemade Astronauts, in which Hughes was to star. ^^ This means there is a very real chance that there is some HQ footage and possibly even audio/onboard footage. Let us gorehounds pray for a leak. |

Re: Man Riding Homemade Rocket Killed
This flight was not intended to see if the earth is flat, this launch was to raise awareness and funding to build an even bigger rocket which was to take him past the karmen line. As for the TV show. They are following 3 different teams. The only thing that he proved is flat is himself now. My friend just said: “ at least he died doing something he loved, screaming ‘dear god Noooooooooooo!” |
