Re: Man Killed by Tire Rim
You should go to school and learn physics then. In basic relativity, it doesn't matter if a massive object hits you, or you hit a massive object. Acceleration/Deceleration matters. A car going 100 miles an hour crashing head on into another identical car moving 100 miles in opposite direction is the same as a car going 100 miles an our and hitting a brick wall. |

Re: Man Killed by Tire Rim
Actually it would be slightly worse. But we're comparing apples to oranges here. A man's neck vs. a ton of steel is not the same as two identical cars traveling in opposite directions. ...or any brick walls which may be involved. You're welcome to prove your knowledge of physics if you have any heavy objects lying around. |

Re: Man Killed by Tire Rim
It's not apples and oranges. My first comment said that the mass doesn't matter in that case, velocity/acceleration does. Getting hit with that steel rim the way he did, is roughly equal to the guy standing on top of the truck, and falling down headfirst on top of the steel rim. In both cases...injuries would be severe, and he could break his neck. That's also why simply losing your balance, and falling head first onto the pavement is so dangerous...it doesn't look as bad as the scenario in this video...but it isn't far off. You literally get hit in the face with a planet.
