Re: A Man Dived into a Shallow Pool and Died Instantly

I've lived in India and in the second world, and you are expected to have common sense. There are no placards and warnings and such things.

I remember seeing a beautiful wall around some facility, and every 20 ft was stenciled the warning not to urinate on this wall. The average IQ in India is 82 and the lowest IQ the United States military will accept is 83. The average African IQ is 70 and the average African-American IQ is 85. There's your difference between opportunity/ the environment
This is a mix of anecdote and stats that are not nearly as solid as you are making them sound.

IQ is not "common sense", and it is not some clean measurement of human value or behavior. It is a narrow test of specific cognitive skills under controlled conditions. It does not account for things like education, environment, nutrition, stress, or real world experience, all of which have a huge impact on performance.

Those "country and race IQ averages" are not reliable facts in the way they are being used here. A lot of that stuff comes from inconsistent testing, old, biased or flawed datasets, and conditions that are not comparable across populations. Modern psychology does not treat those numbers as fixed biological differences between groups.

Also, the U.S. military does not use IQ tests for enlistment. It uses the ASVAB, which is an aptitude test and not interchangeable with IQ.

Long story short, this is taking messy data and turning it into a simple story it does not actually support.

That might be the funniest thing I've ever seen

His mate throwing down some posthumous moves was the icing on the cake. Bravo!

Since my PhD research is in iq, I do know what I'm talking about, rather precisely.

The ASVAB is basically an IQ test.

All the stuff that you're blathering about that could be factors. They are factors. The amount to 15% of the difference

And then vacation gets remembered for a traumatic experience rather than a fun one.

The external genitalia are that of an otherwise normal adult male. (I was in the pool!)

Love those poolside dance moves. Shack diving should be discouraged
Not if it brings us these results.

But that vacation does get remembered so I think that's money well spent.

Re: A Man Dived into a Shallow Pool and Died Instantly

It's satisfying to see his fate after that horrible dancing.
Beat me to it.
I would rarely wish these DR outcomes on anyone but this moronic “dancing” (it’s everywhere - you can’t escape it) deserved nothing less. A shame they didn’t keep the camera rolling. I was enjoying it immensely. A group dive would’ve been nice too.
