Man Died After Trying to Lift Four Bags of Cement to Win Challenge
Somewhere in Nigeria, a man, identified as Gbenga, and his friends placed a bet, daring each other to carry multiple cement bags. The prize for the winner was their mobile phones. Each bag reportedly weighed 50kg. Gbenga attempted to carry four cement bags, but after a few seconds, he collapsed under the weight. His friends attempted to pour water over him so he could regain his senses, but he was unable to move or speak properly, and he ultimately went limp. Gbenga died a few days later in hospital. It is thought he died of a severe spinal injury. |

We’ve all had friends like that who’d laugh if you got hit by a train. Men are idiots

Re: Man Died After Trying to Lift Four Bags of Cement to Win Challenge
The very funny thing is the two other guys look more buff than a guy that was trying to lift the four bags of cement and yet the two buff guys can't even lift that one skinny dude up with them combined so I wonder if they were even able to hold the bags of cement themselves probably not I think he said best why do we need enemies when we have friends like that

That's what the reports were saying. One commentor on some forum post I found said he might have actually died from some kind of skull/brain injury. I'm not a medical expert and Nigeria isn't the best for reliable info.

Re: Man Died After Trying to Lift Four Bags of Cement to Win Challenge
It looks like his neck dislocated around C6 or C7 ish. This could explain why he retained some level of arm and neck control while presenting obvious lower body paralysis. Especially how he appears to not display hand mobility. The brachial plexis is distributed through several areas, not just 1.
