Re: Man Crushed in Work Accident
I know this scene all too well. I used to work at a glass whole saler years ago and I can confirm that those cases are filled with glass. I can also confirm that those cases were manufactured in China, big surprise. Believe it or not, these glass cases are prone to falling over like that due to the production and packing of the cases. You can clearly see that there are 2 2x4 supports holding that glass case up (these cases easily weigh over thousands of pounds, if it starts tipping, it’s over.) Rules number 1. NEVER stand in front of a case that is not nailed to another case. Rule number 2. If for whatever reason you need to pass by a case that is not securely nailed to another case, you just simply don’t pass. Rule number 3. You do NOT remove supports or nails until your forklift has a steel chain and clamp set around the case. Did I forget to mention that you never stand in front of a glass case? If I was asked to stand in front of that case and keep it friction fitted with a 2x4 stick, I’d tell them you’re on your own. In fact, I’d call the coroner ahead of time to save them the hassle. Stupidity and lack or training, it’s a shame. |

Re: Man Crushed in Work Accident
Are you dumb or just posting shit you have no idea about?? "#1Reperfusion of ischemic tissues spreads cellular toxins into the circulatory system." That only happens after the tissue has had no oxygen for several minutes, and then becomes reperfused. This guy was under for less than a minute so what the hell are you spewing nonsense for? |

Re: Man Crushed in Work Accident
He posted in good faith. It certainly gave me food for thought about how helpful actions can make things worse. So you added to the facts. And you may even be right. But surely he didn't need to be torn a new one. |
