My son is Chinese + Vietnamese + he couldn't care less about 'racist' terms. I call him (affectionately) a 'Chinky ****' + he doesn't care. Though I do however pick + choose when I get offended on his behalf, haha!

I get where you're coming from. To me, it all depends on the context in which it's used. I didn't think it was meant to be racist or offensive, that's what I meant. Trust me, I've been called a ****, ***** and other derogatory terms especially when I was much younger. They were said to hurt, with malice and prejudice. As I got older, I realized THEY are the ones who are ignorant, usually not very smart, pathetic miserable people who use racial slurs to attempt to feel better about their own miserable existence.i
