Very unprofessional. Actually he is not really elevating the femoral artery at all due to the point of incision. As the incision originates at the inguinal region , (Through the scarpers triangle) it is only the ileo femoral at this location. It does not become the femoral artery until beyond this point and terminates at the popliteal which is behind the knee. Blunt scalpel blades are dangerous. Should never use scissors to incise the surface of the skin.There are many instruments purpose made for this procedure however this operator seems to prefer using his own fingers? The entire procedure should of taken approx 30 seconds and the incision should of been approx 1 inch long.The "Embalmer"???? appeared to of been instructing the procedure and should know the correct methods for such a simple task. His terminology was quite accurate so I guess he was taught by someone else who did not know any better. Also a true professional would of used a dignity cloth to cover the gentalia.Its just a basic mark of respect whilst entrusted with the remains of a families loved one. I,m not being prudish but some standards should never be compromised in a professional setting. |
