Machete Wielding Veteran Shot on Camera
I did a search on the forums and found that this was already posted in current events section 5 years ago, but I've found a longer version of the video and more info about the case since then. Feel free to move/merge threads if necessary, as I'm not sure if this was okay. J.C., the tenant who shot T.T. and caught the terrifying saga on video, acted in self-defense and was not charged, a court ruled. The firearm (a 9mm) J.C. used that day was returned to him after a 45 day wait period. He has since purchased two more guns and upgraded his girlfriend's .22. ---------- How to get charged with attempted murder and and fuck your chances at an appeal: The defense attorney for the machete attacker says that his client was not aware of what he was doing, when he kicked down the door of the Idaho home. Attorney Dave Martinez further contends that T.T. “finally snapped out of it” when he was shot. Guys...he didn't know what he was doing. ---------- To his credit, apparently it was confirmed that he has no history of violence (but that seems weird to me... considering he was in the military. I guess he served in a nonviolent military. ---------- Understandably, they both have PTSD now and fear he might try to get revenge when he gets out. His girlfriend still wakes up in the middle of the night from nightmares. I tried to included a copy of the appeal that was filed but I'm having trouble adding it. It's not really all that interesting to be honest though. They basically argued that the sentence was excessive for the crime. The appeal was denied.
