I'm guessing that when they struck his cervical spine with such force, it caused a forceful involuntary reaction and he jerked up like that, not that he actually could sit up. When they first start cutting, yeah, his legs were moving and that was probably still voluntary movement at that point. I do think the guy was pretty calm about the whole thing; that's probably the best way to be, in that situation. If I was to be beheaded, I'd probably take these guys over some of the other ones I've seen. The blade seemed sharp enough that it was over with pretty quickly, and just sharp enough to remove the head quickly enough that there probably was a millisecond of consciousness afterwards. |
