Re: Knife Wielding Mom Fatally Shot by Officer in Front of Her Kids
Pretty sure you should do everything in your power not to end the life of someone such as her. “Run away”. I can tell your testosterone is insulted by your use of words. If they perceive her as a danger to themselves then yeah, how about get back to safety so you don’t have to fucking shoot her. The mentality is completely wrong. |

Re: Knife Wielding Mom Fatally Shot by Officer in Front of Her Kids
As an EMT of 12 years, I cannot even imagine how hard this situation has been to resolve for the people involved. The taser didn't work - dunno why, she kept escalating.. dunno why..... the deputy shot her center mass.... not sure why that was necessary.... but she kept it up. I so wish I knew what made this happen, and I'm so very thankful it wasn't my scene. That's a hard fucking day.

They could had fired one round. Not continue firing when she is already on the ground.

Re: Knife Wielding Mom Fatally Shot by Officer in Front of Her Kids
Actually, I am just imagining what I would expect the police to do if I happen to be in the area where there is a raving, clearly unstable person waving a knife big enough to have a sheath. They have a responsibility to protect the public from that and not just themselves. They have tried non lethal methods and it didn’t work. She was then lunging at one of the police officers and they have to shoot her before she gets too close. This was suicide by cop and I don’t think any of the cops wanted to shoot her. I know if I had to pull the trigger I would feel terrible having to. I am not sure which police officer would not have used their weapon in this scenario. I don't suggest you try the same with your police.. but do let us know how they react if you do. |

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say her boyfriend or whatever the fuck was abusive and controlling and she was probably filled with regret and hates her life and also brain washed. Tragic.

I don't know if it's sad for the kids, they probably won't remember this and they won't have to be raised by a mentally unstable mom, maybe this was the best for them. Who knows... she could have ended up killing them.

Re: Knife Wielding Mom Fatally Shot by Officer in Front of Her Kids
It’s good you’re an EMT since you don’t know why the center mass shots were necessary Also as an EMT for "12 years" you should by now have the experience and wisdom to know that first responders don’t ask why.... except for investigation purposes and EMTs aren’t trained to do that. That falls to Cops, Fire Investigators, OMI investigators and on the rare occasion Paramedics. The idea that you are asking why the way you are makes me think you may have attended an EMT-b course 12 years ago maybe did some volunteer fire department work maybe even drove an ambulance because that’s primarily what EMT Bs do but have no real hard experience in the field. |
