Re: Was killed by a suddenly dropped cargo box
The suspense is unbearable. This is going to sound sexist and I think it probably is but I think men are raised to think that they can fix anything. Poor dude.

Re: Was killed by a suddenly dropped cargo box
This reminded me of an incident while I was in the AF. A sgt was fixing the hydraulic flap on a B-1 and had a female airman in the cockpit holding the lever to keep the flap open. At some point her arms got tired so she switched to sitting on the lever. During the transition, which was less than a second, the flap closed on the sgt and made him a permanent part of the wing’s internal components. Just smashed him completely and instantly. Like biting a grape. Didn’t have video of the incident but they used the audio from the cockpit for training for years to come and had pictures on slides of the aftermath iirc. The audio was just this poor airman mumbling about how uncomfortable she was and then wondering why people on the flightline were yelling at her. Crazy stuff. Anyway, that’s an example of something you either learn not to do before you attempt it or you learn not to do after you attempt it once. |
