Maybe be was a homicide, maybe he was a gambler and owed some gangsters money. They wait for him to arrive at home, ask him for the money, he declines, and that was a quiet was to off him? Just a theory.

The man was impaled in the head by the stairs post-mortem. The fact there's no blood is a sign that someone placed him there after killing him. If it had happened while he was alive, there would be blood everywhere.

Exactly what I was thinking! For all we know, he could have managed to survive for quite some time. I see it alot in the emergency room... I wonder if he was on a stake out?  |
