Iraqi Professor Executed in Libya

No context beyond title. This is about a year old, so it's not from the most recent fighting.

Looks to me like they beat him up a bit first, but it's definitely better than the alternatives

Re: Iraqi Professor Executed in Libya

He's asking (to the government of Nuri Al-maliki, Iraq)to release the prisoners (probably libyan terrorists) in order to have their lives saved. So I'm guessing there were more like him.

Definitely true. But there are also many innocent civilians Oswald. Sooner or later I know that you are going to be able to accept this. The fact that there are innocent people and EVIL motherfuckers that come from all races and ethnicities and religions and nationalities is a fact that can't be distorted by your immature perspective. You really should start putting some more thought in to your comments and actually trying to illuminate a valid point rather than allowing your own personal distaste for Islam to cloud your message.
But it's up to you. Maybe you don't have a point and aren't interested in helping the situation.

Re: Iraqi Professor Executed in Libya

If the American government focused on helping with a secular-style education in the middle east and spent even a small fraction of the military budget on education. Not "Christian, god fearing education". I'm talking about REAL education in science and secular morality where you accept and embrace people that are different than yourself and try to take interest in new things/ideas regularly. If this was a core teaching of all of the different religions of the world, then we wouldn't have constant war between different religions/ethnicities. But unfortunately it isn't a teaching of the mainstream religions. Sure, Christianity teaches you to "love thy neighbour", that is ofcourse unless your neighbour is a homosexual, or isn't a Christian. Then you should tell him he is going to hell for being different than yourself, and try to convince him to convert to your way of life. Fucking idiocy for anyone to claim Christianity is accepting of ALL others. Everyone knows that the same goes for Islam. Don't give me any bullshit about 'interpretations'. Islam is clear. Murder is mandated for many different offences according to the Qur'an. -Apostacy, homosexuality, adultery, and blasphemy are executable offences. This is not an interpretation. It's written.
Anyhow, until secularity becomes the basis for everyone's personal religions there will be major conflicts.

Re: Iraqi Professor Executed in Libya

Military action is ridiculous and almost seems childish in 2014. I'm sure anyone under 35 would agree. These 'leaders' of ours are like children fighting over toys in the sandbox. Except the poor civilians are the ones that are recruited to the military and forced to do the fighting for the leaders. You'd never catch me joining the military. Although a give full credit to the soldiers for their bravery, it enables our corrupt governments (yes, ALL of them) to abuse their power. Leaders would be a LOT more willing to negotiate and come to a resolve if they didn't think they had an endless army of expendable soldiers that will fight in their place for them. Imagine a world where everyone refused to join and told the leaders to go fight it out for themselves...
