The structural point that they were sitting on and holding onto, was that where the scaffolding broke apart. Had they been sitting nearer to the middle, the components they were on would not have broken apart beneath them. Besides this, this is one of the most profoundly unique videos I have ever seen, on here or anywhere. Erbil has oil money for these skyscrapers, however I have no idea about the scaffolding regulations or the speed at which sandstorms can erupt upon the city like this.
The father should have shielded his children from having to bear this entire ordeal, as well. The emotions of the family are deeply troubling, yet so profoundly human that they show us a side of humanness rarely seen on this site. We rarely grasp, with the sometimes witty, often degenerate puns that we see in the comments, how profoundly impactful such events are to families of the deceased as well as witnesses.
