People who (believe they) stand up for human rights, like Renee in ‘protesting’ ICE, often support the rights of the Palestinians as there are major human rights violations against those as documented by the UN, ICC, Amnesty International and so on.

Simple people interpret that as “oh so you hate the Jews???” In general that is, not saying he is simple

Trump says Good, Pretti were ‘not angels’ but their actions didn’t justify fatal shootings:

President Trump said in an interview Wednesday that Renee Good and Alex Pretti “were not angels” but said their actions did not justify their fatal shooting deaths at the hands of federal immigration officers.

“I’m not happy with the two incidents,” Trump told anchor Tom Llamas on “NBC Nightly News.”

“He was not an angel, and she was not an angel,” he continued. “Still, I’m not happy with what happened there. Nobody can be happy, and ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] wasn’t happy either.”

“But I’m always going to be with our great people of law enforcement,” he said. “We have to back them. If we don’t back them, we don’t have a country.”

When asked by Llamas whether what happened to Good and Pretti was justified, Trump said “no.”

“It should not have happened,” he said. “It was a very sad incident, two incidents.”

Trump went on to say that people working within ICE felt the worst about Good’s and Pretti’s deaths.

“They’re strong, tough people and they have to be tough because we’re dealing with hardened criminals,” he said.

Good and Pretti were fatally shot in separate incidents in Minneapolis last month amid growing tensions in the city over the federal deportation campaign taking place. The shootings resulted in major backlash against the administration’s handling of the immigration operation in Minneapolis as well as across the country.

Trump told NBC News that his administration “can use a bit of a softer touch on immigration,” marking a departure from his usual hard-line rhetoric on the issue.

The president has used aggressive rhetoric when talking about immigration over the course of three presidential campaigns and two terms as president. His second term has seen the deployment of ICE officers and Border Patrol agents in cities across the U.S. to enforce mass deportation efforts and a massive reduction in migrant crossings at southern border.
