Those colorful sticks he’s sticking into it’s shoulderblades don’t have velcro. This ain’t no pin the tail on the donkey here. They have nails on the end of them... they damage the muscles that hold the bull’s head up.

Once the bull ,can’t keep his head up, yet still is following his instincts to charge, the matador pulls out a sword.

As the bull charges, the sword is plunged into the back of the neck, to kill the bull. The idea is to plunge the sword between the shoulders and directly into the heart. If the bull immediately drops, the crowd cheers the great aim and performance of the Matador

I however have seen the sword come out the side, and the bull make 3-4 laps of the ring, leaving a trail of blood till the bull finally collapsed bleeding to death. The crowd jeered and booed the poor performance
