Fishing poles used to be made of fiberglass; nice stiff non-conducting shafts. For the last twenty years, they've been made of graphite (carbon fiber), nice stiff CONDUCTING shafts. Like a lightning rod. Still have a few dimwits killed every year in the US poking electric lines with a fish pole, thinking it's fiberglass. |
