Re: Graphic Footage: Cops Kill Man on the Spot. Justified?

1st point completely justified. Looked like he was reaching or pointing a gun. 2nd point... if you shoot to kill your target, you unload your clip. 3rd point if that bitch had shut the fuck up, they probably could have gotten him help a little sooner although the headshot would have been fatal anyways... Cops have the shittiest job in the world, how would you like to roll up to a domestic violence call and deal with guys pointing guns or knives at you on a daily?
you fuckwit! the guy didn't reach for shit!!!! you are just another kid on here, glad to see someone get shot, no mater what the reason.. this instance was completely unjust... I fucking wish it could have been you in his shoes instead of him, that would make you disagree the wouldn't it you fuck bag!

Damn why shoot the guy so many times?.. How about a nice shot to a leg or shoulder?

Re: Graphic Footage: Cops Kill Man on the Spot. Justified?

I've watched the beginning several times. The only concerns I have are that obviously this cop knew him. Clearly they were on a stakeout for him and after he shot him he's looking for a knife that's not there and asks a fellow cop for 1 to cut off his shirt, which I would bet is the 1 that is found in the bed of the truck. Other than that by the viewpoint of the video you can't get the cops POV. The dude was obviously squirelly and did seem to be grasping for something, probably his foot/ seat belt? to free it to run BUT if he wouldn't have done that and complied with the cop he would probably still be alive so I would have to go with a clean but shady shoot.

Re: Graphic Footage: Cops Kill Man on the Spot. Justified?

1. Looked to me like he was getting out of the car to run
2. wow.. you don't shoot to kill you shoot to incapacitate.. since fucking when have cops had the legal ability to murder someone because they are scared little bitches? Oh and I will not be listening to advice from someone who says unload your "clip"
3. That "bitch" was acting like anyone would have been in her situation. I personally believe that cop should be stripped and bent over with hands stapled to the floor in a prison shower
You're an ass. As a police officer, you are not training to 'shoot to incapacitate' as you so eloquently put it. You are trained to shoot center mass/head shots (double tap) on your targets. The only way to incapacitate a criminal is to kill them. Sorry - that's why any gunfire directed at a suspect is referred to as 'Deadly Force'.

Re: Graphic Footage: Cops Kill Man on the Spot. Justified?

I have read every post on this thread and I think people's opinions are based on one simple concept. That concept is "Is a cop's life worth more than other people's lives." What I mean by this is, if someone approaches me in a dark alley, can I just open fire on them because I thought they MIGHT have been a threat? Because that is what happened in this video. He MIGHT have been a threat. But there was no gun on the victim. The only knife found was in the bed of the truck, and clearly not in his hand. The police have many other tools to use, tasers, clubs, pepper spray in people not presenting imminent threat with a deadly weapon. The fact is this man had no weapon in his hand. The police used deadly force assuming he MIGHT have a weapon. Now if any of us civilians used the same standard, we would be charged with murder when the fact the victim had no weapon was considered. So, does the police have more rights to defend themselves than you do? The argument about how many shots were fired, and police training to fire into center mass is completely irrelevant when you consider the cop that fired the first shot did not see a weapon. That is the split second decision that is in question. Personally, I believe the cops needed to hold their fire until a weapon was presented. This is the same standard everyone else is expected to follow, trained or not. Otherwise gas station clerks could fire at customers anytime someone put their hand in their pocket to get money. The clerk could just say, "I thought he was reaching in his pocket for a gun, so I unloaded a Glock 40cal into his chest." The bottom line is the cops fired without seeing a weapon and that puts the death on their hands. Not following orders is not punishable by death by firing squad. Whoever fired the first shot has no business carrying a gun, period. If the cop isn't charged, or fired, he should never be trusted with a firearm again. Maybe a meter maid or a desk job would be more suitable since the training obviously didn't restrain him.
Your analogy fails on one important point: The police officer KNEW who this guy was when they pulled him over, and he was considered armed an dangerous (with good reason since he was convicted of things like assault with a deadly weapon and rape.) The police officer already knowing this, absolutely had to be ready for him to reach for a gun. While it sucks that his foot got stuck, he did look like he reached for a weapon, and the officer acted appropriately. They don't have to luxury of waiting to actually SEE if the guy is going to shoot them, and pretty much have to act in this situation. Officers who don't generally don't live long enough to see retirement.

Re: Graphic Footage: Cops Kill Man on the Spot. Justified?

That stupid cop asked for a knife to cut off the dead man's shirt. Isn't that why he killed him? Because the victim had a knife on him? And why did that stupid cop keep feeling his crotch? Inferiority complex forever
