Girl Frying on the New York City Subway Tracks
If that smoke coming up is from her hair burning, I can't even begin to imagine what that platform must smell like... I do not have much information on this video, all I know is that this is on the New York City Subway (the "watermark" in the latter part of the video says the Bronx) and that it happened this morning. I ran into it while on my Facebook feed (this is a screen recording so I apologize for the low sound), some of the comments say that she committed suicide but I wouldn't believe it until I read it from some reliable sources. If any of you have any further information on this, please feel free to add on! Other angle and longer footage HERE |

Re: Girl Frying on the New York City Subway Tracks
Fuck. I know where this is. When I lived at 128th & Lenox (Harlem) I did some exploring of the Bronx, which were just north of me and where I occasionally went to a shopping complex. Poor, poor lady. That’s such a horrific way to go, I’d think... |

Re: Girl Frying on the New York City Subway Tracks
A 17-year-old girl died when she jumped onto the tracks and touched the third rail at an elevated Bronx subway station Tuesday morning, according to cops. She leaped onto the southbound track at the Simpson Street 2 / 5 train station just after 8 a.m. and made contact with the electrified rail, officials said. First responders shut down the power to try to rescue her, but by the time they reached her, it was too late. It’s unclear why the backpack-wearing teen was on the tracks, though a witness told investigators that she may have been trying to retrieve something she dropped, according to police sources. Service was interrupted along the line for about an hour as cops investigated. Heartbroken relatives gathered Tuesday evening at her Longfellow Avenue apartment building — just a few blocks from the Foxhurst train station. “All we know is she went to school this morning — happy — and then this,” said one male relative. “We are waiting for the doctor’s report.” |

Re: Girl Frying on the New York City Subway Tracks
You'd think they'd have some emergency shut off switch near the platforms, or something.
