Our will to live is amazing. He knows he is digging his own grave, yet for an extra hour of breathing it is worth it. We are so scared of dying, we will do anything for more time. I wonder if they were both dead before the fire.

For all of the people who always say "WHY DON'T PEOPLE FIGHT BACK, I WOULD TOTALLY THROW THE SHOVEL AT THEM, NOTHING TO LOSE!!!"... There was a story during the Algerian Civil War where several prisoners were being forced to dig their own graves. A couple of the people attempted to fight and flee, they were taken down and tortured and burned alive in front of the other prisoners. Yeah usually engulfing people in flames is a pretty good "signs of life" test but this inferno was too fierce for that :(. You can see the guy in white barely moving towards the end before the flames but I think it was agonal breathing. There was one bullet that caused him to let out a huge exhale, that's usually a fatal blow to the dome. |

one of them called them punks. Everytime I've ever heard them call someone chavala was when they were referring to someone snitching or ratting. Not sure if that's what they're referring to or not.
