Re: Facial Expression on Decapitated Head Changes
I have seen at least 2 videos where the mouth clearly opens and closes up to a few minutes after beheading (without anyone touching or moving the head).

Re: Facial Expression on Decapitated Head Changes
Yeah, this seems like an extreme version of that. Like another poster suggested rubbing the edge of the spinal cord may have also been the trigger, its possible a shitload of nerve endings got stimulated at once. It would've been nice to see the full video and know how long the head was off. And it would've been nice to have no blindfold on, seeing signs off life in the eyes would be much more convincing. I hate to admit it but my #1 gore guilty pleasure is probably looking for signs of life in decapitated heads. The holy grail is going to be the day that someone decides to record a fast beheading with the head strapped down and an HD camera affixed on their face for the seconds afterwards. I have to imagine it'll happen some day. |

Re: Facial Expression on Decapitated Head Changes
I read a book about executions years ago. One case cited was of a French physician who became very close to a convicted murderer who was to be guillotined. This was in the 1930's. He asked the guy if he would conduct an experiment after the execution, using his eyes to communicate by blinking and moving his eyes. Apparently the guy was a real hard case, the execution didn't bother him, and he said yes. I think the doctor got logical responses for about 30 seconds after the execution. If I can find the book I will give the title and page.

I think it's possible he is manipulating the skin sort of like this scene from Men In Black: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...tail&FORM=VIRE |

Re: Facial Expression on Decapitated Head Changes
The video that was linked in this thread actually brought that up, and read an excerpt of the doc's findings. Reading the part about how the guy would open his eyes and look right at the doc more than once is super creepy but equally fascinating. |
