Re: Execution of German Spy, WWII

Most of those executions of the Nazi's I agree with however the executions of those young german soldiers (the one's who could speak English fluently and were sent behind enemy lines in late 1944 as spys) was a mistake by the allies IMO .. they should have been treated as POW's
In that climate / time either side caught a spy they were shot they were considered very dangerous as one could undermind a whole mission and hundreds of lives. Of course now I look at those faces and feel for them but lets not forget if we were caught it would have been a bullet to the head but you raped first.

The Nazis were at least civil about the way they executed people.
except for burning towns people in a church shooting women and child in trenches and covering people while still alive, straving people, experimenting on people in the concentration camps. Learn the history your wrong

If you're not wearing your nation's uniform or you're wearing your enemy's uniform, you're no longer a soldier fighting under the 'protection' of your nation's flag, under the Geneva convention you're not recognized as a solider, but as a saboteur or spy. He got what was coming to him.

Some people need to stop trying so hard to form thoughts.
Lol. I'm not the poster who thinks the word traitor means one who fights for his country.

Your right I understand why they did it .. I'm just saying Germany was like 5 or 6 months away from total unconditional surrender at the time .. Those young men didn't have to be executed after they were found out ..

It's war (obviously) and although the end was in sight, they didn't know when it would end and frankly being close to the end of war isn't a mitigating factor. They were spies and/or saboteurs and in war that's how they're dealt with.
