Ethane Gas Explosion Kills One
Tabasco, Mexico An explosion caused by a leak of liquid ethane was recorded today in a Pemex pipeline, at the height of the San Fernando ranch, in the municipality of Huimanguillo, which caused more than 110 people to be transferred to safe places, reported the State Civil Protection Institute (IPCET). The IPCET coordinator confirmed the death of a person, a 55-year-old man, who is presumed to have set off the fire; as well as the intoxication of a minor due to the strong smell of gas. He pointed out that Pemex personnel, in coordination with State Civil Protection and Public Security authorities of the Huimanguillo City Council, are working in the affected area, which is located on the banks of the Cárdenas-Coatzacoalcos federal highway. The state official pointed out that due to these events, vehicular traffic had to be diverted to town C-26, to exit through the directions of the Benito Juárez Sugar Mill. The surroundings of the place are cordoned off by SEDENA and the National Guard. Firefighting personnel participate in the emergency response operation, and the security conditions in the area are evaluated. At this time, PEMEX workers are working to control the leak and dissect the line, which are estimated to take approximately 3 days. Civil Protection carried out a review of 11 houses, in which minimal damage was observed due to the expansive wave of the explosion, in addition to the detachment of sheets. |

Looks like the wick effect in action with his body fat slowly rendering and burning. Common explanation for cases of so called spontaneous human combustion
