England - High Speed Crash Kills Car Passenger
A man, in his 20s, died as the car he was a passenger in crashed into a lamppost. The collision took place in Rowley Regis, West Midlands, at about 05:30 BST. A man, 26, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, but was released and will be voluntarily interviewed at a later date. A third man was taken to hospital with a broken arm, along with a fourth man who had minor injuries. |

So much to love in this video: - incredible tire squeal - my favorite telephone / electrical / light pole collision on DR, sparks then a huge electrical flash as it shorts out -coolest parked cars The British really love to take corners and roundabouts fast. I drove there years ago and saw a guy take a roundabout in an convertible MG Midget at perhaps 40 mph, he leaned out of the car to keep the wheels on the ground around the corner... |

I had an MG Midget in the 70's, when I was young and stupid (now I'm old and stupid). Looking back, it's one of my "what the fuck were you thinking" situations. It's a car where a fender bender can turn into a fatality. Zero acceleration, took probably 25 seconds to get it to 60mph. And a heater didn't come standard on the car, that was an upcharge.
