Electricity Worker Tries to Rescue Trapped Co-worker but Gets Electrocuted
2016. A NEPA worker climbs up the ladder to rescue another NEPA man that was held by the high voltage cable, he was also electrocuted by the high tension cable. They both died. CEB–NEPA Power Interconnection is a 70 kilometres (43 mi) long 330 kV powerline between Sakété (Benin) and Ikeja (Nigeria). It connects Nigeria's power grid (NEPA) with Benin's grid (CEB). |

Stupidity at its finest, I'm hardly shocked to know this happened in a 3rd world shit hole.

If you're gonna climb an electric pole to save someone who had just died, paying attention to your surroundings (and not the crowd) would be beneficial.

I would think that extremely high voltage transmission lines would be on large power poles, say 120 feet tall or so. The power lines in this video could be reached from a ladder and rooftop.

I appreciate the willingness to help a fellow human being, but use your head for fuck sake.
