This strangely reminds me of a "Curb your Enthusiasm" episode where Larry meets an older asian guy who said he was a kamikaze pilot and Larry says 'how can you be a suicide pilot when you're still alive?"

He could have throw that grenade overboard or wait until he was inside the boat then use it, he just didint want to live as a prisoner.

The circumstances of the video are epic. The footage is less interesting, but knowing that he was a failed kamikaze pilot and killed himself anyway shows incredible commitment to the exact opposite goal of every living thing on the planet Earth. He probably could have been taken as a POW and lived, but he didn't care. They may have shot him anyway, but still, incredible that he grenaded himself.

Personally, if I'd been that Kamikaze pilot, I'd have tossed the grenade onto the deck of the ship. Just saying.  |
