Re: Dave Shaws Last Dive
The simple reason that the bodies of dead climbers are scattered about Mount Everest is that it's too dangerous and difficult to try to remove them. Reaching the summit of Everest is a physical challenge unlike any other on Earth. To attempt to bring a dead body or a stranded climber down would take too long and likely leave the climbing team stranded overnight. This makes rescue attempts virtually suicidal.

Re: Dave Shaws Last Dive
There's a book about this guy that's a good read if you like that sort of thing. You couldn't pay me enough to dive that deep let alone into a pitch black cave and then to handle a dead body.....yikes. There's another video of a diver dying as he descends into a cave. If I can find it I'll post it if it's not here already. |

Re: Dave Shaws Last Dive
Just leave people where they are, if that's where they died then thats where they were meant to die. Weather it's down there or on Mount Everest, there are of no harm to anyone else so just leave them be. He put himself in danger to get him & paid with his own life, it wasn't hurting anything for his body to be down there, he just made himself another statistic.
