Agree completely, one baton strike to the body would have floored her and released the weapon. then handcuffs on before she drew a breath. sometimes deadly force is not justified. there was no need for this lady to die.

From what I've read, the US sees more fatal police shootings in a month than other first-world countries see in 10 years, and twice as many as US government stats officially report. Obviously a (perhaps the) major factor is gun control, but another is training, especially in situations like this where no gun is present. It might very well be that these officers were adequately trained on how to disarm a disturbed woman wielding a pair of scissors and yet still found lethal force the only reasonable option in this situation... but I somehow doubt it.

Frail woman who was obviously mentally unstable armed with a pair of scissors. Obviously the cop had justification to shoot her, but there were ways to disarm her without lethal. I guess he didn't feel like doing extra work?
