Cop Killed After Crashing His Police Car into a Wall After Dodging Cyclist

Security camera footage captured the moment of an accident that killed 42-year-old military police corporal C. N. F. and left a sergeant injured last Sunday, in Fluminense. According to the police, the car they were in crashed into a wall after the cop who was driving the vehicle tried to dodge a cyclist who was on the road.

In the video, it is possible to see a cyclist crossing in front of the vehicle that was at high speed trying to pass a bus. The driver tried to avoid the bicycle, but ended up crashing into the wall of a store.

According to the PM, the corporal and a sergeant were on their way to an emergency call when a cyclist got in front of the vehicle. At this moment, the police officer driving the vehicle tried to avoid the man and lost control of the vehicle and spun in the lane until it collided. The driver was trapped inbetween the wreckage and died on the spot.

The wife of the police officer is still trying to assimilate what happened. Shaken, teacher N. F. was at the IML on Monday morning to release the body and said that the couple's 9-year-old son still does not know that his father has died.

Married for 14 years, N. described him as a good person, generous and an excellent father. According to his wife, the policeman was also passionate about his profession.

"He had the police in his blood and he always told me that he was a police officer 24 hours a day. We are very sad about that, because I know when a person loves the profession. We were worried, because being a police officer in Rio de Janeiro it's very dangerous. He was a very nice guy, an excellent father, a good person, generous", he recalled.

The teacher said that she learned about her husband's accident from her father and her pastor and mourned the pain of the loss.
"At the time of the accident, I was at the church and I found out from third parties.

C's wife also pointed out differences in the cause of the accident. "Each police officer talks about something. Some say he swerved from a bicycle, another said he was in one incident and ran to another. The fact is that he's gone. I was even surprised when they told me he was dead, I thought that it was by shooting. But when they said it was an accident I said it was impossible, because he drove very well".

In a note, the PM lamented the death and said that C. was crowded at the 20th BPM, joined the Corporation in 2014 and leaves a wife and a son. The policeman will be buried this Tuesday, at 11:30 am.
