This officer deserves an award tbh, he was able to target the girl with the knife without hitting another victim, and neutralize the situation.

The only thing I never understand is why the police aren't trained to shoot below the waist, to avoid as much death. Though, I've never been shot so I couldn't say if getting shot in the leg would actually stop someone from swinging a knife or shooting a gun.

Some great points about the media from niknik and wondermama and I'll chime in. The media thrives because of viewers, clicks and subscribes. The worse the news is, the more we (the public) view, click and subscribe. One of our local news channels mantra is "honest, fair and everywhere". I agree with the everywhere part, the rest couldn't be farther from the truth, as it is with most of the media. I won't say the media incites violence, but it's my opinion is they nudge. It is PAYDAY for the media when there are police shootings, riots and the like because that glues us to our TVs, phones, radios and laptops. The payday is even bigger when the action crosses racial lines. I don't think the racial divides in this country has been this bad since the civil rights issues back in the 60s and we've not ever been this politically divided, ever. It is a shit show.
