A 30 year old Chinese woman, along with her son, takes the escalator going up in a large mall, in Jingzhou this morning at 10.10 AM, when upon arriving at the top a floor panel suddenly collapses and the mother gets caught in the escalator.

She forwarded her son so mall employees grab the kid but unfortunately weren't able to hold the mother who became stuck for three hours till she got rescued, but it was already too late as she died already.

After watching the footage internet users found it a bit strange there were 2 to 3 mall employees already waiting at the top like they already knew problems were there with the escalator.

The media was refused to go to the scene to interview people. Until the evening, only a brief media coverage of the incident was aired.

Looks like the workers got a complaint about risky floor panels from another potential victim; I think that they are simply checking out that complaint. A very nasty end for that poor lady.

They saved a lot of money by not installing that "emergency off" feature. So you have to shove a body in there to shut it down.
