An employee has been charged with two counts of murder after he allegedly shot and killed two men inside of a Chicago restaurant on Monday night.

According to Chicago police, 42-year-old M M was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting at a J&J’s Fish and Chicken location in the 7800 block of South Western Avenue on Monday.

According to police, two men began arguing with the suspect at approximately 10:28 p.m. The suspect then pulled out a gun and shot both men before fleeing the scene, police said.

Authorities say a 55-year-old man was shot in the face during the confrontation, and a 56-year-old man was shot in the head. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

M M was located approximately 35 minutes after the shooting and was taken into custody without incident, police said.

An employee of a popular fast-food restaurant on Chicago's South Side has been charged with fatally shooting two customers on Monday night, police said.

Police said the shooting happened inside a JJ Fish and Chicken in the Wrightwood neighborhood near 79th and Western at about 10:30 p.m.

Police said the shooting happened after an argument between a customer and an employee, 42-year-old Mehdi Medellel.

Police said two customers started arguing with Medellel, and he, at some point, pulled out a handgun and fired shots. The two customers, a 55-year-old man and a 56-year-old man, were shot in their heads and died at the scene. Another worker at the fast-food restaurant got word of what happened on Tuesday morning. "I don't know why this happened or why he did what he did, what made him do what he do," she told ABC7.

She did not want to be identified and said she was not working at the time, but she knew one of the customers who was killed.

"He sat in there with me every day. Sometimes, I fed him. He was homeless. He didn't harm nobody or anything," the worker said.

JJ Fish and Chicken closed for business Tuesday afternoon. There were no visible signs left over from the deadly scene that played out less than 24 hours prior.

John Grant lives nearby and knows the area well. "You know those peoples in there are really nice people, and their food is pretty decent, so I go there all the time," Grant said. "On this particular corner, you have to watch your back. You know, it's always something."

CPD said Medellel has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He is due in court on Wednesday.

Pulled up some reviews and someone accused that shaft of spitting in food or something of that nature. Are spitting in their hands or whatever gross. And how's the article says one of the victims were homeless which you can tell you to see all his stuff he's digging in. Looks like he was trying to dig out money or something or else to pay for something maybe he was short or it didn't pay right away the pissed off the guy we won't know cuz we don't have audio on these videos I don't think.

I guess they deliver morn then chicken and fish there with a side order of bullets but it is Chicago so what's new.
