People should watch the horror movie EDEN LAKE (2008) for an object lesson in this. Michael Fassbinder plays an obnoxious husband upset at a group of teenage chavs because they showed up near where he likes to picnic with his wife. He says something to them and- well, then you find out why it's a horror film, and a pretty grim one too.
