Brazilian singer Marilia Mendonça has died in a plane crash. She was 26.

Mendonça was traveling on a small aircraft to the state of Minas Gerais for shows this weekend when the plane went down.

The singer and four other people flew out of Santa Genoveva airport in Goiânia Friday afternoon, headed to Minas Gerais, CNN Brazil reported, and crashed by a waterfall in Piedade de Caratinga, in Vale do Rio Doce.

Everyone on board the plane died, including the pilot, co-pilot, and Mendonça's producer, H.R., and uncle A.S.D.F.

Reportedly, they flew through some high-tension electrical cables. The airplane looks pretty intact, although there must have been some high G forces to kill everyone like that, especially if they were wearing seat belts.

Glad that someone's finally posted this. Hours ago I came across this, but I'm on my phone, so couldn't get the videos. I've resorted to getting some from TikTok, as I won't be back on my laptop for a few more hours yet.

~ The plane tried to land on the dirt road, but at the last second as it tries to line up, when it's turning, it does so too soon, so the plane catapults upside down into a full 360, although it still managed to crash with the plane right side up. However the multiplication of centripetal & centrifugal forces from the rotation were too great to survive upon flat crashing.
~ Perhaps lost initial control due to mechanical difficulties, &/or wind conditions were additional causes. Out of gas would be my last choice of reasons.

~ SAO PAULO (AP) — Marília Mendonça, one of Brazil's most popular singers and a Latin Grammy winner, died Friday in an airplane crash on her way to a concert. She was 26. Never heard of her before, apparently shes pretty popular down there though. Its not my type of music, but she definitely had some talent.

Sucks that she died so young too, it looks like she put some serious effort into getting healthy over the last year. It makes the tiktok of her begrudgingly eating that healthy looking tv dinner for her last meal kinda bittersweet.

The plane looks to be in good shape as far as crashes go. It bellied in hard and fast, lots of G's going on when you stop like that.
