Police in Newark are reporting that the victim of Saturday's single-vehicle collision on Route 21 and Mill Street has been identified as a 34-year-old Brazilian man living in Harrison.

Authorities said at approximately 4:31 p.m., police responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision with a driver ejected from the vehicle.

The driver, Mr. Marcelo Pagani was pronounced dead at the scene. and a second occupant of the vehicle was transported to University Hospital in stable condition accoridng to authorities.'

Police said speed has been determined to be a contributing factor in the crash in this ongoing investigation.
