Brazil - Woman Dead After Jet-ski Accident
On the afternoon of 3rd April 2022 in Mosqueiro (Brazil), 22 year old L.d.J.d.S. lost her life. 'L' + her friend, S.B., were riding a jet-ski on the Vaza Barris River when they crashed into a pier. Witnesses tried to revive her, but she died on the way to the hospital. 'S' survived the crash + was taken to the hospital for surgery on her pelvis.  Photo taken shortly before the accident:

That was strange. I've never jet-skied, is forward visibility impaired? How did they not see that dock? Texting while jet-skiing? They knocked out a section of the dock. Quick, compassionate bystander rescue response. Good thing the bystanders weren't carnies. Probably at least one person who loathes noisy jet-skiers at the tables was thinking "yeah? (crash) YEAH! YEAH!" |

People with limited or no training on PWC's often confuse the controls and in a panic, they tighten their grip on the handlebars and gun it right into what they're trying to miss. Add in target fixation (I don't want to hit is so I'm gonna STARE RIGHT AT IT) and you have a recipe for another kind of stare, the death stare, as shown in photo #4. Simone,  |
