Brazil - Mechanic Killed After Tyre Explodes
A 29-year-old mechanic died after a tyre exploded at the rubber shop where he worked on Wednesday afternoon (3) in Santiago, Rio Grande do Sul state. He was identified as V.S.d.C. According to the commercial establishment, V. was working on the maintenance of the tyre of a trailer when there was an explosion. He was rushed to hospital, but could not resist the injuries he suffered. The cause of the explosion is still unclear. The management of the rubber shop said that V. was an experienced professional with specific qualifications in the area. Colleagues reported that, apparently, no different procedure was adopted than usual. Police are investigating. |

Tire had just been inflated and the bead wasn’t seated. He was re-installing it when the bead separated and the air was released.
