Re: Brazil - Man Dies from Electric Shock when Charging Mobile Phone in His Car

I could be wrong, but is that some sort of vacuüm cleaner on the drivers Seat? And running from down the screen towards the rearwheel an Extention-Cord?
Could be have been cleaning his car since everything is opened
Might have spilled some water on the wrong spot, or have a faulty wire running trough the puddle under his car
good eye but it had to do with the car audio system and not the phone.
in reality the cell phone was with his girlfriend and he was just playing a song the shock was caused by a bad contact of the wall in the car and this made the can laugh at the car to start passing electric currents .: obs it was raining , it was wet and the car was inside a water can.
And that was in an Aquatic Park between Graça Aranha and Crioli.
are using 20 batteries in series in sound, and on top are using high voltage charger with output in the order of up to 300 volts
There are sources that use the plug directly, this source charges the battery and even turns the sound on directly on the load. This creates a great risk of accident.
Man was carrying the sound and the cell phone when he went with his feet on the wet floor to check and took a deadly electrical discharge, the video is shocking, there is little care. If we notice there is a wire coming into the car, it’s 220 volts, it’s connected to the battery charger that keeps the car’s sound without needing it, it’s connected to the water and the barefoot happened a fatality

Re: Brazil - Man Dies from Electric Shock when Charging Mobile Phone in His Car

There is a phrase in electronics, "It's the mills that kills"; "Mills" referring to milliamperes of current. However, you do need some voltage to push the current. I am highly doubtful that the car's 12 volts, or else the charger's output of 5 volts would be sufficient to clamp the muscles of the guys body as shown in the video. It didn't help that he was standing in water, perhaps some sort of ground loop to an AC source was really the culprit.

Agreed. Something doesn't add up here. Gotta be another power source

Re: Brazil - Man Dies from Electric Shock when Charging Mobile Phone in His Car

The car electrical system could not have done that. He had mains power going there somehow, and he grabbed it standing barefoot in a puddle, like he was in some "don't-do" film from the National Safety Council. Brazil has both 220 V and 110V, and either one is plenty enough to ruin your day.

The amps kill you, of course, because they are a measure of the current. But current flow depends on the volts. The 12 volts in a vehicle cannot push enough current through a person to even feel it no matter how big the battery is. On the other hand, 220V from the power company will cook you like a Presto Hot Dogger.

Re: Brazil - Man Dies from Electric Shock when Charging Mobile Phone in His Car

Yes a car has a ton of cold cranking amps, but the only wiring that can cary that load goes straight from the battery to the starter. All the other wires carry 20amps at the most. Also DC will not cause that kind of muscle lock up. There is some AC source here causing this.

The car was probably running, his bare feet in the water drew the amps, crappy electrical system in that car.
