why would that be illegal for police use? Im wondering personally. Honest question. I dont think it would do much but give an advantage in accuracy, so why would it be illegal? We want our officers to shoot accurate, do we not? Can you post your source for that info? If this is true its kind of strange. Thanks

From the video, obviously the cop was dispatched to the scene, he told the suspect that.
The cop wanted him away from the door for two reasons, to maintain control of the subject and the scene. Not in a place (in front of the door) where he could not maintain control of bystanders coming and going.

Most likely to protect the city from civil lawsuits after such an incident. Just like the comments here, a civil jury trial over wrongful death could go either way. Some say excessive force, some say not.

In conceal carry class, they tell you NOT to modify your cc weapon in any way, to protect you from lawsuits later.

hmm Thanks for your response. Very informative. However In my conceal carry class they never said a thing about modifying your weapon. What difference would it make if it was full auto or three shot burst or semi auto? If you are justified and can use deadly force, and do, what difference does it make how its delivered? My conceal carry class basically told me how and when i could carry and use my weapon lawfully, and what i could do if i didnt have my weapon and could use deadly force lawfully. such as if someone points a gun at me at a traffic light and i fear for my life or someone elses i can run their fucking ass over with my car...so what if i put 2 turbos on my car. it makes no difference. Where i am from, if i am justified in using deadly force, whatever force that is that i am legally able to own, i can use. You see where im going with this? Do they want it to be an equal playing field with the dead guy or guy that got shot? It makes no sense and ive never heard this before and i would appreciate a documented source because the above information has not been my experience in the real world

He doesn't know what he's talking about.

Compared to the vast majority of civilians, cops shoot a lot of rounds (mostly in required practice) during their careers.

Police officers have mandatory range time and, over the years, it's common for them to maximize (to different degrees) their service arms to their own individual liking.

I have a couple Beretta 92's with just minor tuning done (smoothing the action, lightening the trigger and beveling the mag well) with which it would be very easy to pull off the same type of fire.

Neither one of them are 'match' pistols.


The point is, modern semi-autos are quite easily capable of faster rates of fire than most people realize.

You'll notice that all the rounds are not fired at the same time.

It suggests to me that the rounds were likely fired effectively and reasonably accurately.

Also, one of the tactics used is 'overwhelming firepower'.

As we saw from the video, this was very effective.


The BAD guy died.

The GOOD guys lived and were not injured.



I would be surprised if the cop doing the shooting was not a combat veteran.

Do not reach... and then he did and when he turns around to run away the cops can't see what he's doing with his left hand. That could be indeed another weapon he's reaching for so to be sure they fire a lot of rounds as you never know how many will hit target on a moving/falling object.
He simply should have followed orders imo.
