On April 4, at 7 o'clock in the evening in Maoming, Guangdong, a forklift was about to unload from another truck. Just as the forks of the forklift was raised, a motorcycle suddenly passed by and the owner’s neck position was exactly at the level of the forklift's forks so the driver was "cut" and fell to the ground, while the motorcycle drove for nearly hundred meters without a driver, and didn't stop until it hit the guardrail. The man in white at the scene saw that the owner of the motorcycle fell to the ground and hurriedly called others to come and help. The operator of the forklift quickly lowered the two arms of the forklift, and then reverted the forklift to the side of the loop and got off to look at the motorcycle. In the case of the truck driver, compared to the man in white who went to call for help, the forklift driver was obviously at a loss. The owner of the motorcycle died on the spot, and there was no time for emergency rescue. After the incident, the family members of the motorcycle driver appeared on the scene, very emotional, and fought against the forklift driver. The scene was very chaotic. The police prevented the accident from happening and coordinated. As for the specific cause of the accident, the relevant department announced an investigation. Analyzing the images captured by surveillance cameras, forklifts are definitely the biggest problem. Originally, there are strict regulations on forklift operations. It is required to observe the surroundings before starting to confirm that there are no obstacles that hinder the safety of driving before starting with the whistle; before loading and unloading. It is also necessary to place roadblocks or warnings to remind passing vehicles and pedestrians that there are working vehicles, and prohibit people or other vehicles from passing. Obviously, this forklift did not pull the cordon or set up roadblocks, so that the motorcycle could come to the forklift unobstructed. The weather is very dim at night, the brightness of the street lights is also dim, the vision is not good, and the motorcycle rushes fast and caused a tragedy. |
