A 30-year-old man was killed last night by a motorcycle explosion on a highway in Israel.

Emergency teams that arrived at the scene reported a man who was without signs of life and had to determine the death of the rider whose identity is still unknown.

Police forces arrived at the scene to clarify the circumstances of the incident and joined medical personnel in the field.

* UPDATED COMMENT: Probably had an explosive with a trigger in his backpack, since the bike is pretty much unscaved and without much black soot typical of a gasoline explosion, except above the driver seat line.
~ Also since it was a clean,quick, & loud explosion.

Jesus, so it's not enough that motorcycles are hard to spot on the highway; not enough that the people driving them seem to be oblivious of their surroundings or drive in traffic as if the road belongs only to them.....but now these things can just randomly explode for no reason?

Now I'm wondering if these people are just freaking suicidal, like that Honduran dude who shot himself playing Russian Roulette. I mean, that's the only logical explanation

Very unlikely...if not impossible.
Fuel tanks and fuel in general does not explode like this( internal combustion engines work on deflagration, not detonation ). A gas tank itself wont burn either...the fuel must be mixed with air first. Take a bucket of petrol and light it up. It wont explode...it just burns.
Some very powerful bombs use high explosive "core" inside a fuel tank to blow up the tank, turn the fuel into fine mist that will then detonate under the right circumstances. It is quite difficult to do and wont happen on its own.

Quick googling about this video seems to suggest that the guy was a known criminal. My guess is that it was an assassination via explosives.

I have ridden bikes for most of my life, most bikers are 100% switched on at all times, we have to be to avoid idiot car drivers not paying attention. I know what the car driver in front of me is going to do before they do. Your comment is borne out of ignorance and your clear hatred of bikers.
