The heart has its own pacemakers (starting with the SA node) that, with or without innervation from the CNS, rhythmically triggers a wave of electrical activation across the upper chambers of the heart causing it to contract, which then triggers a similar wave of activity in the lower chambers. There just hasn’t been enough time without blood flow to this heart so it just keeps on doing what hearts do. After enough time goes by without oxygenated blood flow its local energy reserves will be depleted, toxic byproducts will build up, and the heart’s cellular environment will become too toxic for the contractions to continue (and it will die.)
