The survivor in this video reached out to me last night on Reddit after I posted a comment breaking down the video, he sent me two videos from his home security cameras and wanted me to post the full story. Turns out subreddit mods don't like gore and deleted the posts.

I'll attach the two security camera videos he sent me here.

Also, here is his account of the events. I've retyped them to clear up some of his verbage:

In this, I will be referring to him as "Uncle".

That night Uncle was hosting a birthday party for his niece at his home, and one of the guests, Rodney, invited two strangers they had not met before. The strangers, named Shawn Garcia and Brandon Chavez were gang affiliated and were confronting his family stating their gang ran Lynwood, CA.

Uncle's family was getting agitated by the gang members and informed him about the problem they were having. Uncle approached them and told them that they needed to leave the party. A verbal confrontation ensued as Chavez and Garcia stated they were going to be back.

They pulled away, and family began packing up to leave because they were worried. As they were packing up, Uncle went inside to retrieve his legally owned and registered handgun and stood in the driveway to watch over his family, with the weapon concealed as is allowed by California law.

About 15 minutes after leaving, Garcia and Chavez returned. They reversed their car down the street as Uncle's house is at the end of the road, likely in an attempt for a quicker escape. They exited the vehicle and began shouting at Uncle's niece's husband Paul Gonzalez, antagonizing him to fight.

Rodney, the chubby man in the yellow/white striped shirt is the brother of one of the gang members and is who initially invited them. He is standing in front of them trying to calm them down and telling them they needed to leave, while they continue to shout at Paul.

Paul approaches Chavez, answering their calls, and the two proceed to get into a physical altercation. It is at this moment Garcia raises his handgun and begins firing in the direction of Paul, killing him and also striking his wife two times in the legs.

Uncle then raised his handgun in defense of his life and his family and fired at Garcia. He fired several rounds as Garcia continued to fire and Chavez retrieved his firearm while retreating. Uncle paused firing to avoid Rodney because stepped between them. Garcia stumbled backwards onto a parked car but kept his handgun raised at Uncle, so Uncle fired again, striking and killing Garcia. At this point, Chavez opened fire on Uncle, striking him once in the torso. Uncle returned fire, striking and killing Chavez.

Rodney, the brother of one of the gang members, pushed Uncle down and attempted to take his firearm but was unsuccessful.

The entire encounter lasted just under 6 seconds.

Uncle then got up and went to check on Paul, but he was already gone. Uncle and Paul's wife were taken to the hospital where they were treated and released. Uncle provided his footage to Downey, CA police who reviewed it and made the determination he was reasonably acting in self-defense of his life and the lives of those around him.
