If memory serves, a standard twelve gauge 00 holds seven pellets, which are approximately equal to .32 cal. They have a fairly short effective range because of the way they spread out. After about seventy-five yards, it's possible for them to all miss a man by going around. |

Memory doesn't serve you well. A standard 2-3/4" 00 buck shell holds 12 pellets, and a tactical 00 load holds 9 pellets. The spread of those pellets is largely determined by the type of gun they're fired from, and whether or not the gun is choked. ;) I remember this video from several years ago. Even in context, I never understood what this guy did to deserve being shot in the chest point blank. He was unarmed, choking, and blinded from tear gas. :-/ |
