A Young Woman Receives Second-degree Burns
A young woman from the Philippines, because of extreme poverty, was forced to work as a maid in the Middle East. Instead of finding greener pastures abroad, she suffered from abuse at the hands of her employers. According to local media, the girl had second-degree burns and was taken to a small clinic where the victim said she was attacked by her employer. After boiling a pan of hot water, her employer threw the water on her body. She reported that this all came about after she dropped a water heater cover.Even after the employer saw the wound on the young, they still forced her to work like a slave. |

Re: A Young Woman Receives Second-degree Burns
When I was young, I honestly can't remember what age, my brother saw a video of people throwing boiling water in such freezing conditions that it instantly evaporated. One cold winter day when we had so much snow that school was closed he got the brilliant idea that he was going to try it. Being the little sister that I was, I followed him out the front door and when he threw the boiling water it all back-splashed on me. Fortunately outside it had cooled a bit, and I didn't end up with serious wounds, but I was sobbing from the hurt. My brother hurried me inside and begged me "don't tell mom!" I had skin flaking for months, but that was about the extent of my injuries. |
