I have to agree, it's a painting. And the main focus is the scar. I think the survival rate is higher now than it used to be. It's operable I think.  |

It's a shame when a child is born with spina bifida, because it can almost completely be prevented. If the mother takes folic acid during the pregnancy the risk of spina bifida is almost completely gone. Also the price of multivitamin is ridiculous low, so why not free for pregnant mothers? Think of what a disabled child costs to society, not to speak about the suffering it goes thru for the rest of their life. It's even a greater tragedy when you realize that with a little sensibilization in school everybody would know this, not to speak of the gyno who has to inform his patients about certain risks. ps. is it obvious i'm a father? |
