They look like medical staples. My boyfriend had 12 in the back of his head, we had to snip them out ourselves. damn places that would take them out wanted to charge an arm and a leg to take out staples. glad my stepmother is an LPN.

they look correct to me. you can see how they curve under on a few of them to grab the skin and pull it together. Doesn't mean he went to the hospital to get them though. you can buy skin staplers on amazon

i think its hard to tell if they are medical grade or just regular paper staples. but, its safe to say that he most likely did it himself. the cuts are not that deep and skin staples or sutures would only really be used if the edges of the would didn't come together neatly or mutiple layers of skin are cut.

is he trying to do some kind of body modification or something, either way, he's just asking for an infection.

They are sitting too high up to be done at a proper emergency care center. I doubt a medical professional did the stapling, as the wounds are not deep enough to warrant staples or stitches. They would have slapped some Steri-Strips on there and sent him on his way with a referral to mental health services.
